Well we all know that vitamin C is good for the skin, may prevent certain illness but what struck me most is that daily intake of vitamin C may actually prevent diabetes according to Men’s Health Magazine.. In a study in UK, participants who ate about five servings of fruits and vegetables a day were 62 percent less likely to develop diabetes than those who consumed about three servings. “Vitamin C may help prevent oxidative stress,” sysys study coauthor Nita Forouhi, PhD. Oxidative stress can disrupt your body’s ability to process carbohydrates leading to high blood sugar.
This new information really struck me because both of my families (from my mother and fathers side) have diabetes. And we all know that diabetes can be hereditary. But with this new information I felt a little less worried about the disease since I take in vitamin C everyday.
