In multiple studies, scientists have determined that taking 200 micrograms (mcg) of selenium every day lowers the risk of prostate cancer by 49 percent. And you want that percentage to be in your favor. Dr. Reyes revealed that prostate cancer is the fourth leading cause of death from cancer among Filipino men.

Most adults think that eggs have high cholesterol levels and should only be eaten twice a week. Well that’s partially true, they contain cholesterol. But a recent study in Thailand showed that the individuals eating eggs once a day showed that their High Density Lipoproteins (the good cholesterol) increased by 48% while their Low Density Lipoproteins and triglycerides didn’t budge. “We think the lecithin in egg yolks may be responsible for the rise,” says study author Korapat Mayurasakorn, MD. But before you take in dozens and dozens of eggs be sure that you have the approval of your physician.
For me, one of the most important part of our body is our heart. The brain can be dead but the heart will still pump… Heart Diseases can be avoided by healthy lifestyle and exercise. And with this new information, I am not anymore afraid to eat eggs everyday (because I want to increase weight by increasing my proteins).

Well we all know that vitamin C is good for the skin, may prevent certain illness but what struck me most is that daily intake of vitamin C may actually prevent diabetes according to Men’s Health Magazine.. In a study in UK, participants who ate about five servings of fruits and vegetables a day were 62 percent less likely to develop diabetes than those who consumed about three servings. “Vitamin C may help prevent oxidative stress,” sysys study coauthor Nita Forouhi, PhD. Oxidative stress can disrupt your body’s ability to process carbohydrates leading to high blood sugar.
This new information really struck me because both of my families (from my mother and fathers side) have diabetes. And we all know that diabetes can be hereditary. But with this new information I felt a little less worried about the disease since I take in vitamin C everyday.
